Exceptions (selection)

  • Combined rail–road freight transport up to 200 km to or from the nearest suitable railway station; port–road up to 150 km (Nr. 1, 1a).
  • Fresh milk and dairy products, fresh meat and meat products, fresh and live fish, perishable fruit and vegetables (Nr. 2).
  • Certain animal by-products (Nr. 3), live bees (Nr. 5), recovery, towing and breakdown assistance after an accident or emergency (Nr. 4), the related empty journeys (Nr. 6).
  • Vehicles under the Bundesleistungsgesetz (Federal Requisitioning Act), the Bundeswehr and allied forces for military needs (Nr. 7–9).
