How we work

  • We rely first on official texts and authorities, then on manufacturers and associations, and finally on other media.
  • Every piece of information names its source, the status of that source and the day on which we read it. If any of these is missing, the information is not shown.
  • We write in our own words. We quote official texts word for word and mark them as unofficial reproductions.
  • A fixed set of rules calculates the data pages – driving bans, Dosierung (truck dosing at Kufstein), winter tyre requirement – from the official rules each time a page is opened. It does not estimate anything and does not generate free text.
  • Every night an automatic run checks whether the sources still say what we read in them. If a source fails the check, we do not show the affected information until we have checked it.
  • We correct errors visibly: on the affected page and under Corrections.

Artificial intelligence

The data – status, deadlines, dates – is calculated automatically by a fixed set of rules from official sources and compared with these sources every day. The texts on these pages are written with the help of AI.

The translations into other languages are also produced with the help of AI. The official German texts referred to on each page are binding.
